GTA 6 Release Date

Release tracker · PS5 & Xbox Series X|S · verified against Rockstar

Last updated 2026-10-25

The confirmed date, how it has changed since the reveal, and how this page verifies it.

The confirmed date

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026. That is the date printed on Rockstar's own GTA VI page, next to the launch trailer and the pre-order call to action.

If you only need one number, use that one. Retailer listings, aggregator sites and social posts are downstream of it and are frequently stale.

How the date has moved

GTA VI was revealed in December 2023 with a broad 2025 window. It has since been pushed more than once: first to May 26, 2026, then to the current November 19, 2026.

The pattern matters for planning: Rockstar has announced each move publicly and updated the official page, so a date change is only real when that page changes. Treat a claim of another slip as unverified until then.

How this page verifies the date

Three checks, in order: does Rockstar's GTA VI page show a date, does a cited reference agree, and is the page's last-updated stamp current. If the first check fails, the date is marked unconfirmed — even if ten news sites repeat it.

When the date changes, the change is recorded in the update log at the bottom of this page with the date it was checked.

What to do before launch

Three practical checks, in order: confirm the date on Rockstar's page, confirm the edition and price in your platform store, and only then pre-order. Store pages are the source of truth for price, regional availability and cancellation rules, and they change without notice.

If you are not pre-ordering, there is no penalty for waiting: nothing on Rockstar's page suggests a limited launch run, and the pre-order pack is the only listed incentive.
